Privacy Policy

BeatBlossom is operated by the BeatBlossom team ("we", "us"). This policy explains what we collect when you use BeatBlossom, why we collect it, and who we share it with. Questions go to beatblossom@proton.me.

Information we collect

You give us

• Account details — email address and a username. You can sign in with Google, an email address and password, or a Solana wallet. If you sign in with Google, we receive your email address and profile picture from Google. If you sign in with a wallet, we receive your public wallet address.
• Optional profile details: display name, bio, profile photo or avatar, your date of birth, and optionally your general location. Your date of birth and age are always private: they are never shown on your public profile or to other members, and we use them only to personalise your recommendations. Location is off by default and is only shown publicly if you turn it on.
• Content you create — song ratings, tags, private notes, playlists, posts, comments, and messages sent in live club sessions.

We collect automatically

• Usage data — songs served to you, what you rated, features you use, and session activity. This is what trains your recommendations.
• Device and log data — browser type, device type, and IP address, used for security and to keep the service working.
• Cookies and local storage — see below.

How we use it

• To run your account and keep you signed in.
• To generate music recommendations from your ratings — this is the core of the product.
• If you tell us your age or age range, to mix in more music from the years you grew up with. Your age range is stored privately on your account and is not shown on your profile.
• If you choose to import from Apple Music during setup, we read your most-played, recently played and library artists once, on your device, to suggest artists you love. We keep only the artist names you confirm, as part of your music preferences.
• If you have not set a country, we use your browser's language region (for example "pt-BR" for Brazil) to include popular songs where you are. It is not stored.
• To show public profile information to other Members when you choose to share it.
• To operate live club sessions, the feed, and follower features.
• To process subscriptions and enforce plan limits.
• To detect abuse and to respond to support and bug reports.

We do not sell your personal information.

Advertising and cookies

BeatBlossom does not show ads and does not set advertising or analytics cookies of its own. The embedded YouTube player may set its own cookies, as described below.

We also use essential cookies and browser local storage to keep you signed in and remember preferences such as your theme. These cannot be disabled without breaking the app.

Services we share data with

• Google Firebase — authentication, database and hosting.
• YouTube — music playback is delivered through the YouTube player. Your use of the embedded player is subject to the Google Privacy Policy, and YouTube may set its own cookies.
• Solana blockchain — crypto payments for Pro and Premium. When you pay, we keep a record of your order (plan, price, token, amount, the paying wallet address and the transaction signature) with your account. Solana transactions are public and permanent: anyone can see the paying wallet, amount and time on a block explorer. We don't take card payments.
• Checkout analytics — when you use web checkout we record first-party events about each step (for example price shown, payment detected, order expired) with your account ID, plan, currency and amount band, so we can find and fix checkout problems. These events are kept in our own database, are never sold or used for advertising, and never include your wallet address.
• Spotify (optional, invite-only) — if you connect Spotify, your browser talks to Spotify directly and keeps the Spotify sign-in tokens in its local storage, never on our servers; while connected, your device reads your top artists, saved tracks and top playlists to pick songs and skip ones you already have, and during setup it suggests genres and artists, of which we keep only the ones you confirm in your music preferences (other signed-in Members can see these, and your genres appear on your profile). Disconnecting or signing out removes the tokens from that device but does not delete those saved preferences (email beatblossom@proton.me to have them deleted), and you can remove BeatBlossom's access on Spotify's side at spotify.com/account/apps.

What other Members can see

Your username, profile picture or avatar, and anything you deliberately share — public profile, shared playlists, posts, and club activity — are visible to others. Your email address, real name, and private rating notes are not shown publicly. Your location appears only if you turn it on. Your age is never shown.

Your choices

• You can edit or remove most profile information in Settings.
• You can control which activity appears in the feed.
• You can request deletion of your account and associated data by emailing beatblossom@proton.me. We will action this within 30 days.

Children

BeatBlossom is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

Security

Data is stored with Google Firebase and transmitted over HTTPS. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be announced in the app, and the "last updated" date above will change.
